The craft of making bamboo curtains has a history of over a thousand years. Historical records indicate that as early as the Northern Song Dynasty, it was listed as a royal tribute, renowned throughout the land, and known as the "Number One Curtain in the World."
Bamboo curtains are made from Cizhu bamboo from the local "Hundred-Mile Bamboo Sea," which is drawn into fine, hair-like strands. Using a wooden loom, the bamboo undergoes dozens of handcrafting processes to create unique bamboo curtain handicrafts that are as thin as cicada wings and resemble brocade. Combining calligraphy, painting, embroidery, flocking, and other expressive techniques, various forms of hanging curtains, screens, decorative paintings, and practical handicrafts are meticulously crafted. With elegant colors, exquisite craftsmanship, and a strong local flavor and natural charm, it is a unique gem in my country's ancient and splendid culture, enjoying a high reputation in the arts and crafts world.
Liangping bamboo curtains are highly favored by compatriots in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, overseas Chinese, and foreign friends. They have been presented as gifts by national leaders such as Liu Shaoqi and Deng Xiaoping during their overseas visits. The Great Hall of the People in Beijing and the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse also have collections of them.
